FAQs

Where do you see clients?

  • We see clients at our office located at 4315 50th Street NW, Suite LL2, Washington DC, 200016. We will also travel to your child’s school or home if it is within a 10 minute radius of our office OR a clinician’s home. Please call if you have specific location questions.

  • We also see clients in Alexandria, VA. We are able to see clients in-home or in another local school within 10 minutes of 607 S Washington St, Alexandria, VA 22314.

  • We are not currently seeing clients in Maryland.

Is there a fee for services received at-home or at-school?

  • No, there is no additional fee for services received outside of our clinic

Do you accept insurance?

  • We do not accept insurance and are an out of network provider. We provide all of our families with a superbill on the 5th of each month for the previous month. Information from this document can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement at out of network rates. We do not guarantee reimbursement from your insurance and we do not communicate with your insurance company regarding reimbursement. We gladly accept payment in check, credit card, or Health Savings Account. Please follow up with us if you have more questions regarding reimbursement.

Why are you out of network with insurance companies?

  • We choose to be out of network so that we can focus our efforts on providing the highest quality service to our clients and their families. Being out of network allows the following:

    • High quality services. Each clinician will create an individualized treatment plan for your child’s specific needs. This means that your provider can use each session to do what is therapeutically optimal for your child, rather than being limited to what insurance companies will cover. Insurance-based programs are often limited to following what insurance companies deem “billable activity” and the level of care can decrease as a result.

    • Access to preventive treatment. Insurance companies provide guidelines of when a child’s speech/language/motor delay is considered delayed “enough” and will not always cover services that may benefit a child’s long term growth. Rather than wait and see if a child will improve without support, we strive to intervene early so that your child is not impacted long-term.

    • No copays, deductibles, or co-insurances: 100% of the session time is spent where it should be - with your child, rather than completing billing tasks.

    • Accessibility. You are able to access your therapist outside of treatment sessions via email at any time. You can schedule a time to speak by phone to ask questions, give feedback, and discuss your child’s specific needs. Your therapist is able to provide support outside of sessions such as feedback on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), discussions with physicians or other professionals, or participate in family training.

Do I need a referral from my child’s pediatrician?

  • No you do not need a referral from your child’s pediatrician to begin services with us.

Does my child need a diagnosis prior to being seen?

  • While a formal diagnosis can provide helpful information and context, it isn’t necessary to begin treatment. We meet your child where they are, identifying and addressing individual symptoms and challenges.
