Erika McTish, M.S., CCC SLP
Speech Language Pathology
Department Manager
Erika is a speech-language pathologist specializing in assessment and intervention for children with a range of communication needs, including speech sound disorders (e.g., articulation disorders, phonological disorders, and childhood apraxia of speech), receptive-expressive language disorders, and social communication differences. Erika is passionate about working with the early childhood population and values the collaborative nature of a multidisciplinary environment to best support the children and families she serves.
Erika earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees through Duquesne University’s five-year speech-language pathology program and currently holds licenses in Virginia and Washington, DC. She has completed training in a variety of approaches, including PROMPT, DIR/Floortime, the P.L.A.Y. Project, Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP), Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), Rapid Syllable Transition Training (ReST), the SOS Approach to Feeding, the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) framework, and the Social Thinking curriculum. Given her extensive training and experience in childhood apraxia of speech, Erika is listed in the professional directories for Apraxia Kids and Child Apraxia Treatment. She is also a repeat recipient of the ASHA ACE Award (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Award for Continuing Education).
Erika brings a thoughtful, playful, and collaborative approach to therapy, prioritizing connection, engagement, and strong therapeutic relationships. She values a child-led, holistic approach and works closely with families, particularly in the early years, to support skill-building through everyday routines and shared interactions. Drawing from her experience working within multidisciplinary teams, Erika often incorporates sensory strategies into sessions to support regulation, attention, and engagement. She values strong partnerships with caregivers, educators, and other providers to support development across environments.
In her role as Department Manager, Erika is deeply passionate about supporting and mentoring the speech-language pathology team. She values collaboration, professional growth, and reflective practice, and takes pride in fostering a supportive environment where clinicians feel confident, connected, and empowered in their work with children and families.
Outside of the clinic, Erika enjoys hiking, traveling, cheering on Pittsburgh sports teams, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
