Occupational Therapy
Confidence, coordination, and independence—built one skill at a time.

Occupational therapy helps children participate more fully in the routines and activities that make up daily life—at home, at school, and out in the world.
At Bumblebee, our OTs take a strengths-based, play-centered approach to support sensory processing, motor development, and functional skills in ways that feel engaging, attainable, and empowering for kids.
We meet children where they are and build the foundations they need to feel more comfortable, coordinated, and confident in their everyday experiences.

What We Work On
Signs your child may benefit from occupational therapy

Difficulty with daily routines (brushing teeth, dressing, using utensils)
Delays in fine motor skills (writing, buttoning, cutting, grasping)
Challenges with sensory processing or sensory regulation
Difficulty transitioning between activities or maintaining attention
Frequent tripping, clumsiness, or challenges with balance
Limited engagement in play, especially pretend or constructive play
Trouble planning, sequencing, or completing tasks
Delays in meeting developmental milestones
We support children with

Sensory processing differences
Fine and gross motor delays
Coordination and balance challenges
Executive functioning needs
Regulation and attention support (within sensory-motor scope)
Developmental and neurodivergent profiles
Delays related to prematurity, injury, or developmental conditions
Our Approach
Occupational Therapy at Bumblebee is never a one-size-fits-all experience.
Our therapists start by observing your child’s movements, sensory responses, and routines to understand what supports their functional participation. From there, we create customized therapy plans that use play, movement, and hands-on practice to build skills in meaningful ways.
A session might look like practicing dressing skills through a silly sock game, developing fine motor strength with tweezers and craft activities, or building sensory regulation through climbing, swinging, or deep pressure activities.
And because your child may also be working on communication or motor goals in other disciplines, we collaborate daily with SLPs and PTs so progress is cohesive and connected.
Tools and frameworks we draw from:
-
Reflex integration work
-
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI)
-
Handwriting Without Tears
-
Sensory integration approaches
-
Child-led play and floor-based activities
-
Kinesiotaping
-
E-stim (when appropriate)
-
Social Thinking strategies (within OT scope)
-
Visual supports and structured routines
