Therapy Intensives
Short term care. Long term impact.

Sometimes a child needs a concentrated burst of support to jumpstart progress. Our therapy intensives offer high-frequency, individualized sessions designed to help children build momentum toward key developmental goals—quickly and meaningfully.
Intensives are ideal for families navigating waitlists, school breaks, plateaus in traditional therapy, or upcoming transitions. Each program is tailored to your child’s needs and grounded in the same thoughtful, evidence-informed care we provide year-round.

What is an intensive?
An intensive is a short-term therapy plan—typically 1–3 weeks—featuring daily or near-daily sessions that target specific skills with greater repetition and consistency. This model helps create new motor, communication, or sensory-motor patterns efficiently and effectively.
Children may benefit from an intensive if they need:

A jumpstart after a developmental plateau
Support after time away from therapy
A boost during school breaks or transitions
Preparatory work before entering a new program, school, or setting
Focused support for a specific skill area
Who are intensives for?
Our therapy intensives are especially effective for children with motor-based challenges—whether those are fine motor skills, gross motor skills, or the motor planning required for clear speech. Because intensives provide frequent, repeated practice, they’re often a strong fit for children who benefit from structured motor learning.
Intensives are well suited for:

Children with gross motor needs (balance, coordination, strength, mobility)
Children with fine motor or handwriting challenges
Kids with speech motor planning needs, including Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)
Children with neurological or genetic conditions impacting motor development
Kids who may progress more quickly with high-frequency, intensive practice
Families who have short-term availability or are visiting from out of town
Children returning to therapy after a break or plateau
Kids preparing for an upcoming transition (school, sports, new setting)
We offer OT, PT, and SLP intensives—and many families choose a combined multidisciplinary plan for the most cohesive support.
Our intensives can focus on:
-
Sensory regulation & self-help skills (within OT scope)
-
Fine motor + handwriting development
-
Gross motor coordination, strength, and balance
-
Speech sound production (Childhood apraxia of speech)
-
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (establish new system or to collect needed data for new system)
-

Every intensive is designed by therapists who collaborate daily, ensuring your child benefits from cohesive support—not isolated sessions.
